The nearest re-compression chamber is at Malalayang Hospital in Manado, 35 km, or 1½ hours, from Bunaken Island. We recommend divers have their own dive insurance policy - see our insurance programme for a competitive quote.
The Bastianos Diving Center provides 1 dive guide for every 4 divers and first aid kits on its boats. There is a 5,200 litre supply of emergency oxygen back at the resort, together with an emergency action plan. The nearest medical facility is also at Malalayang Hospital in Manado.
Bastianos Resort has a safety deposit box, free of charge, in reception, and has 24 hour security provided by a 6 person patrol. The nearest police facility is 15 minutes drive from the pier, back on the Manado mainland.
