Coral atolls, barrier and fringing reefs, deep walls, a World War II wreck - all crammed with diverse life and in excellent health, there's enough to keep even the most fervent scuba divers happy. Togian sites are mostly only a 20 minutes boat ride. The islands are considered one of diving's best kept secrets but this may be changing with more flights into the area. Soon it may be considered one of Indonesia's must visit holiday destinations.
Some believe the diving here to be as good as anywhere, yet free from hordes of tourists. Visitors here not only enjoy uncrowded dive sites but also long stretches of quiet secluded beaches and the peace to laze on a hammock hearing only the gentle lapping of the waves. The tranquil, easy going atmosphere of the Togian Islands, remote location, and simple facilities, will appeal to travellers eager to escape from the popular tourist paths. Many will find it difficult to leave.

Resort diving includes:
Dives, equipment rental, boat rides from Black Marlin beachfront - (approx. 09:00-12:00 hrs and 14:00-16:00 hrs), drinking water, dive guide, diving equipment, torches, tanks, weights and belts.Resort accommodation includes: full board accommodation, and return land & boat transfers between the resort and Luwuk Airport.
Dive clubs and group discounts: 1 extra person can join free of charge (diving and full board accommodation basis) for every 8 paying guests.

The resort offers boat and beach dives around the Togian Islands - one of the few destinations in the world with coral atolls, fringing reefs, barrier reefs, as well as artificial reefs for wreck diving.
Boat used for long trips (max. 18 divers) has:
Dive boat trips depart from Black Marlin's beach front twice daily at approx. 09:00-12:00 hrs and 14:00-16:00 hrs. They include a divemaster as well as drinking water. Boat journey time is normally 10-30 minutes, but 1 site (Una Una) is 2.5 hours away.

- 13 metre traditional style wood mono-hull
- 40 HP twin outboard kerosene engines
- Shaded area with wooden ladders
- Sundeck
- 10 metre fibreglass hull speedboat
- 2 x 40 HP outboard petrol engines

The Black Marlin Resort has a hard coral house reef with sea grasses - ideal for spotting juvenile and unusual fishes, such as pipefish and ghost pipefish.
There are many secluded coves and beaches nearby, and a walking trail where you can watch out for hornbills and parrots.

Dive Safety, Resort Security...
The nearest re-compression chamber to the Togian Islands is in Manado, 600 km away. There is no practical emergency evacuation possible other than helicopter airlift. This is an extremely expensive procedure. Black Marlin does not provide customer dive insurance so we advise you take out your own suitable cover - see our insurance programme for a competitive quotation.
There is a very limited amount of breathing oxygen onboard the dive boats and on site at the resort. 1 divemaster is provided for every 6 scuba divers. Please dive safely, responsibly and well within your limits.
Black Marlin Dive Resort has a safety deposit box in reception. There is a police station and medical centre 5 km away in Wakai.
