Currently, the nearest re-compression chamber for diving emergencies is located in Semporna on the Borneo mainland, 30 minutes boat ride away. We strongly recommend that you have your own insurance to cover diving emergencies.
Although the dive boats do not carry oxygen, the resort has oxygen on site and it is also available at Sipadan Island. The dive boats do carry first aid kits, fire extinguishers and life jackets.
For non-diving related emergencies, there is a hospital also in Semporna.

Mabul has a local police station and, in the interests of tourist safety, armed guards patrol the island 24 hours per day.
