Take Your OWD Course on OceanQuest

Last updated: 07 July 2010

Do you want to dive Cairn’s Barrier Reef, but still need to do your Open Water Diver Course? There is no need for you to wait! OceanQuest offers liveaboard courses which combine your 2 day pool training with a genuine liveaboard holiday.

While Queensland and Australia have suffered of late, Cairns was spared the worst of the weather and reports are that the diving in the Great Barrier Reef remains unaffected, and therefore, as great as ever. There are also some great deals to be had.

This boat lives on the reef and is accessed via speedboat transfer from Cairns. Trips can range from 1 night to as many as you wish and can include a dive training course or further education. The diving is concentrated on Saxon, Norman, Hastings and Michaelmas reefs.

OceanQuest’s 6 day course package is a wonderful way for you to learn to dive while experiencing the full benefits of a liveaboard diving holiday.

During the first 2 days you will cover the theory in an air conditioned classroom. Then your pool and practical skills training will take place in the only pool in Cairns that is fully covered, heated and specifically built for diver training.

Before you know it, you will be cruising on a 4 day 3 night cruise into the magical ocean of Cairn’s Barrier Reef. Your first 4 dives will complete your course, then you will have 11 dives as a certified diver, with your only goal being to have as much fun as possible!
