Notes: These expeditions are open for all ages, although we recommend children are at least 8 years old and able to cope in an adult environment.

Dive experience: There is no diving experience required for surface cage diving or of course, viewing the sharks topside from the boat. For ocean floor cage - divers must have PADI Open Water or equivalent certification.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, soft drinks, hot drinks, transfers to the boat from Marina Hotel only, cage dives, tanks, hookah, weights and weightbelts, fins, hood, booties, all port and park fees, internet access, all taxes.

Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Wetsuit, BCD, regulator rental (US$ 13 each per day), park fees (US$ 28 per day). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.
Masks and snorkles: These are not available for rent but can be purchased on board. Or guests can bring their own.

How to get there: The Neptune Islands are located in Spencer Gulf, South Australia. Both islands have large breeding colonies of protected long-nosed fur seals, which attract the great white sharks. There is also a colony of rare breeding Australian sea lions on the smaller North East Island.
Arrival in Port Lincoln: You can get there by flying to Adelaide and then on to Port Lincoln. The following airlines usually offer direct international flights to Adelaide: Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand and Malaysian Airlines. There are also flights from all major Australian cities to Adelaide. Qantas and Regional Express Airlines provide regular daily flights (45 minutes) from Adelaide to Port Lincoln. The alternative is a 7 hour drive or a 10 hour bus ride. From Port Lincoln Airport you take a taxi (AUD 19) to Lincoln Cove Marina, or the Port Lincoln Airport Shuttle.
Boarding/Departure: Passengers should arrive at the Rodney Fox, Marina Hotel, Port Lincoln. The boat departure time from the marina varies depending on the itinerary - see details in each trip itinerary above.
The final cage dive will end at around 3 pm on the last day of the trip, and the liveaboard arrives back at the marina at 8 pm. Depending on the itinerary, guests disembark at 8 pm, or 8 am on the following morning - see details in each trip itinerary above. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.
All guests boarding the MV Rodney Fox must show proof of current (in date) vaccination, bring their own mask and snorkel (for Australian sea lion dive) or purchase from onboard, and bring a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) to take at boarding in front of our crew. Only guests testing negative on their RAT will be permitted to board.

Diving Environment: Water temperatures vary between 14-22°C / 57-72°F so make sure you arrange for exposure suits and accessories including the recommended 7 mm plush-lined warm wetsuit with hood, boots and gloves. You can expect visibility of over 20m both at the surface and on the ocean floor. The depths of the ocean floor cage vary but average 18m so you need at least your PADI Open Water certificate (or equivalent) to partake in these experiences. No certificate is needed for surface cage diving.

Non-diver rate: Non-divers (surface cage only or spectator) - 25-30% discount from the published price, depending on the cabin type and trip duration; please ask for details.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of the normal published price for their own cabin. Prices vary between a 40-70% supplement, depending on the cabin type and trip duration; please ask for details.

Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 6 guests and 1 extra person can join the cruise free of charge (total 7 guests).

Whole boat charter rate (per night): There is no published whole boat charter price. Prices will vary depending on the composition of the group (bottom cage divers, surface cage divers and non-divers). Please check with us if you wish the charter the whole boat.
