Arriving on the Galapagos Islands diving scene is the MY Darwin Buddy, a 37 metre
motor yacht, a purpose-built liveaboard tour boat. Constructed in 2011, this steel hulled
ship provides space and comfort for up to 16 guests.
Darwin Buddy runs 7 night cruises around the Galapagos Islands, in and out of San Cristobal. The tour itinerary takes in all of the best dive sites including the sites after which this and its sister ship are named - the islands of Wolf and Darwin.
The comfort of the guests is ensured with the large saloon and dining area on the main deck, being comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs plus a full entertainment system. This is a very diver-friendly liveaboard as can be seen on the 32m² dive deck. Features include 2 toilets, 4 showers and 4 rinse tanks. There is also free nitrox
and a choice of tanks including 10, 12 and 15 litre to ensure your maximum comfort and enjoyment of underwater Galapagos. Diver safety is assured with electronic tracking devices
for each guest.
Cabins are all twin or double and there are 3 on each of the lower, main and upper deck. All are air-conditioned and have ensuite bathrooms
. Guests can relax in cabins, the saloon or the sun deck and for added luxury, you can hop into the whirlpool
with an evening cocktail. For ease of liveaboard diving at the Galapagos Islands and cruise comfort, MY Darwin Buddy is a great option.

Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.
Optional extras: Alcoholic drinks (premium brand), nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers (US$ 150 per trip).
How to get there: Darwin Buddy cruises depart from San Cristobal every Saturday afternoon. Guests fly into Ecuador and take a connecting flight, through Guayaquil or Quito, to San Cristobal in the Galapagos islands.
You will need to overnight in Guayaquil or Quito before flying on to the islands. To ensure easy flight connections to Galapagos, a 2 night stop-over is recommended. On the return leg you will probably need to overnight in Guayaquil or Quito since most international flights depart too early to make the connection possible. The flight from Galapagos arrives in Guayaquil (and then Quito) in the afternoon.
We will place your domestic flight requirements with the liveaboard operator who are responsible for booking the flights. We request your patience with this process since there are often waiting lists and slow confirmations of availability. You must inform us whether you are flying into Guayaquil or Quito before domestic flights can be considered. If you wish to extend your stay in Galapagos to enjoy land tours please decide that early in the booking process to ensure flight availability.
For more information see our Galapagos travel information section.
