Ramon's Village Resort demonstrates that the most valuable facilities are those that work quietly in the background. By integrating a professional dive operation directly into its layout and surrounding it with authentic comforts and practical services, the resort removes the typical hassles of travel. This creates a sanctuary where certified divers can fully immerse themselves in the Belizean diving adventure, knowing every detail on land is thoughtfully arranged.
For the active diver, meals are a key part of the day's rhythm and recovery. At Ramon's Village Resort, the food and drink offerings are designed to support your adventure, providing robust fuel, celebrating local flavours, and offering a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the day's dives. The focus is on quality, choice, and convenience, ensuring you spend less time planning meals and more time reliving the day's underwater explorations.
The resort's primary restaurant, Pineapples on the Beach, is widely regarded as one of the standout dining experiences on Ambergris Caye. Under the guidance of Chef Rommy Kie and his team, the menu presents a thoughtful selection of internationally inspired and Belizean-centric dishes, with a strong emphasis on impeccably fresh seafood. The setting is unparalleled, with tables situated directly on the sand or under cover with full views of the Caribbean Sea - an ideal spot for planning the next day's dive over dinner or enjoying a leisurely post-dive lunch. The restaurant operates on an à la carte basis for all meals, offering Ramon's Village divers the flexibility to dine according to their own schedule and appetite.
The menu is designed to satisfy hearty appetites with both creativity and substance. Notable signature dishes include the "Steak on a Stone," where diners personally cook premium cuts of steak, shrimp, or chicken on a heated lava stone at their table - a flavoursome and interactive dining experience. Another favourite is the "Pineapple Boat," a hollowed-out pineapple filled with savory shrimp fried rice, embodying the resort's tropical setting. The kitchen consistently highlights local catch and produce through daily specials, ceviches, and Belizean classics like Caracol fajitas or shrimp creole. While vegetarian options are noted to be limited, the staff is accommodating and can arrange for special dietary requirements with prior notice.
Each day at Ramon's Village Resort begins with a comprehensive breakfast plan, offering juice, coffee, and a choice of any entrée from the menu - from fresh fruit platters and Belizean fry jacks to custom omelettes, pancakes, and daily specials. This ensures divers start their morning with ample energy. For casual refreshment, Tropic Al's, the poolside bar, is the go-to spot for expertly blended fresh fruit smoothies, specialty coffees, and light snacks throughout the day. As the sun sets, the beachfront bar becomes a natural gathering place, offering a full selection of tropical cocktails, local beers like Belikin, and international spirits - an ideal setting to share stories from the reef.
Ramon's Village Resort enhances its weekly calendar with special culinary events that foster a communal atmosphere. A highlight is the weekly beach barbecue, often accompanied by live music, featuring grilled favourites in a classic island setting. The popular Sunday buffet offers a more extensive spread for a relaxed end to the week. For those wishing to explore, the Ramon's prime location in south San Pedro means a variety of other highly-rated restaurants, local eateries, and bars are just a short walk or quick golf cart ride away, offering everything from authentic Belizean street food to fine dining.
"
We did not use their equipment so I cannot comment on that. The boats were immaculate. The staff, especially Divemaster AC, were knowledgable and very helpful. The weather was very choppy so we had to dive close to the resort so that was disappointing, but out of their control. It's a very laid back vibe, no grumpy organizers, no ridiculously early departures. Just great." -
