A few minutes drive from Tulamben is the village of Kubu where you will find the new and spacious Kubu Indah Resort, built in 2010. Set on a gentle incline to the beach and with the volcano, Mount Agung as a backdrop, this holiday accommodation features bungalows dotted around a lawn with coconut palms soaring overhead. Unlike some of the other resorts in Kubu, this is not a particularly high budget option, so you won't have to pay big money to enjoy the delights of Kubu Indah and Bali scuba diving.
A swimming pool with bar and a little restaurant overlooking the beach and twinkling Lombok Strait is where guests hang out when not diving or relaxing in their well-appointed bungalows. There is also a spa facility for you to ease away your scuba aches and pains.
Staying here means diving the local Kubu sites as well as those in the Tulamben area. You will be transported by road to the shore and use local boats to access the sites where complimentary nitrox means you can maximise bottom times. While some of the resorts in Tulamben can feel a little cramped, there is plenty of space at Kubu Indah and a more relaxed feel with guests as happy to lounge by the pool sipping a cocktail, as they are to go diving. For a chilled out Bali holiday in a calm and easy-going place to stay whilst diving in the greater Tulamben area, Kubu Indah could be the perfect choice.

How to get there: The Kubu Indah Resort is located in the centre of Tulamben, on the north east coast of Bali. Tulamben is a 3 hour ride from Denpasar International Airport. Transfers are additional - please ask us for details. For more information see our Bali travel information section.
Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 10 guests and 1 extra person can join free of charge on accommodation.
Add-on package: To experience the best scuba diving that a holiday in Bali has to offer, and to avoid long and arduous daily road transfers, we recommend that you book a combination of resorts in Bali, to include the Tulamben area and Padang Bai to dive the east coast, Lembongan Island to dive Nusa Penida, and Pemuteran to dive the northwest coast.

Diving Details...
Each day typically starts with an early morning Liberty Wreck dive or nearby, meeting at 6:30 am. After the dive you return to the resort for breakfast. The 2nd dive at 11:00 am could be at a local Kubu site or a 2 tank dive in Tulamben, The Liberty Wreck and Tulamben sites are just 15 minutes distance by boat.
If the 2nd dive is in Kubu then you will dive again at 2 or 3 pm. If the 2nd dive is a 2-tank then you will be given a complimentary lunch between dives which has been prepared by the resort.
The Kubu Indah dive station features:
There are 2 or 3 boat or shore dives daily. The resort doesn't have its own dive boat so scuba divers are transported by minibus and local hired boats to the sites.
Open house reef diving at Kubu is available from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. The friendly staff will carry and rinse your gear for you so you can just relax and enjoy your Bali scuba holiday.

The nearest re-compression chamber is in Denpasar, 2.5 hrs away. We advise divers to have their own insurance policy.
1 dive guide is provided for every 4 divers. Oxygen and first aid kits are always carried along with a mobile phone and radio, and there is additional oxygen back at the resort. All guides are trained in emergency first response.
The Kubu Indah Resort has 24 hr security. There is a police facility 150m away and the local hospital is 20 km away.
