Just a couple of minutes outside of the main Tulamben area, by the water's edge, sit a little collection of villas operated by Tulamben Wreck Divers. The experience of a holiday here is very different from that of staying at any other Bali dive resort in the area. There are 4 separate villas overlooking the Lombok Strait. Tony, the amiable Australian owner, lives in one and the remaining 10 villa rooms are available for your use.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The villa complex is well-built and in a beautiful location. Some of the rooms enjoy a living space with a sofa desk and chair, and everywhere you look you see the twinkling sea through large feature windows. You feel like you are staying in a particularly lucky friend's place rather than a resort. Here you can enjoy the lovely accommodation, breakfast each morning, and the swimming pool and gardens. There are a number of scooters, or a driver, available to take you in and out of Tulamben and the diving is managed by Tulamben Wreck Divers.

TWD Beachfront Villas represents a real step up in space and comfort from most resorts in the Tulamben area. For families, couples or those who want to dive Bali with one of the most respected dive shops in the area, but expect a little more luxury than at Tulamben Wreck Divers Resort, this is a great vacation option at very competitive prices.

The rooms at TWD Beachfront Villas are all the same price but the configurations are different. There are 4 sea-view villas. Villa 1 has 2 bedrooms and a private plunge pool. Villa 2 has 3 bedroom suites with living space. Villa 3 has 2 ground floor suites opening on to the garden. These 3 villas share the main swimming pool. Villa 4 has its own swimming pool and 3 bedrooms. All rooms are high quality with wonderful views and a very homely atmosphere.

Tulamben Wreck Divers Villas offers diving in Tulamben and at the Liberty Wreck, which is just a short walk from the Tulamben Wreck Divers scuba centre. Other Bali sites such as Nusa Penida, Lembongan Island, Amed (just 20 minutes south of Tulamben), and Padang Bay can be arranged as day trips on arrival.

One of the great things about diving here is that the programme is very relaxed and can be tailor-made to suit you. This means you can dive 2, 3, 4 or 5 dives per day and request when and where you want to dive in Tulamben and visit the same site more than once if you wish. Note that our standard packages assume 2 scuba dives a day, so for those who wish to dive more, see our unlimited diving packages.

Scuba tanks are transported to the shore by the staff or locals. Dive trips include a divemaster, tanks, weights and weightbelts.

Rinse tanks and fresh water showers are available back at the Tulamben Wreck Divers Resort, just a few minutes walk away.

If your idea of a pleasant stay is a roomy villa over-looking the sea, with a pool, tropical garden and Balinese massages to ease away your diving strains then TWD Beachfront villas are perfect for you. However, since these are villas rather than a purpose-built resort, you should not expect resort-style facilities.

Unlike a conventional resort, there is no dedicated restaurant here.

Guests can enjoy breakfast in the dining area by the pool. However for lunch and evening meals, you are free to dine at any of the several restaurants in Tulamben only a few minutes away.

Coffee and tea making facilities plus drinking water and a minibar are available in your room.

The complimentary breakfast includes: eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice, fruit, coffee and tea.

The nearest re-compression chamber to Tulamben is in Denpasar, in the south of Bali - around 120 km drive south west or 3 hours evacuation time. We advise visitors to have their own dive insurance policy.

1 PADI Divemaster is provided for every individual group of scuba divers. There is a first aid kit at the centre and oxygen is readily available from the near-by dive centre.

The resort has a 24 hr security service and there is a deposit box in each room for safe keeping of guest valuables. There is a tourist police facility and clinic in Tulamben. The nearest local hospital is 25 km away.

How to get there: The villas are situated just outside the small village of Tulamben on Bali's north-east coast. Tulamben is a 3 hour ride from Denpasar International Airport.
