Raja Ampat sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle, home to more marine species than anywhere else on Earth. For scuba divers, this is a rare privilege: 650 types of coral, 3,000 fish species, and encounters with manta rays, wobbegongs, and pygmy seahorses. Agusta Eco Resort places you right inside this extraordinary marine park, on a private island in the Dampier Strait. You can arrive and leave on dates that suit you. No fixed weekly turnover. Just straightforward, flexible diving holidays.
The island itself is a calm escape. Palm trees, frangipani, and bougainvillea line the paths. A white sand beach fronts a house reef that works perfectly for check dives or easy afternoon snorkels. Agusta Eco Resort keeps its footprint light: solar panels supply power, plastic use is minimised, and emissions are managed carefully. The property sits within easy reach of more than 80 dive sites, from Manta Sandy and Blue Magic to Cape Kri and the famous Passage.
3 categories of cottages, all face the ocean. Large windows let in natural light and the seaview. The restaurant at Agusta Eco Resort is an open wooden structure with handmade Indonesian furniture. Chefs specialise in Indonesian and Italian dishes, with a bi-weekly menu served at the table. Next to the restaurant, a lounge bar offers free wi-fi, cocktails, and a place to relax with music or videos from the region.
Agusta Eco Resort is the only resort in Raja Ampat with a fresh water swimming pool. It overlooks the beach, surrounded by a large wooden terrace with sun beds. Some guests use it for early morning stretches. Others for cooling off after a day on the dive boat. The spa sits in a quiet corner with sea views. Massages are available in several styles. A good option after long dives or simply as a way to slow down.
The dive operation runs day trips to nearby reefs. The Agusta Eco Resort guides know the local currents and choose dive sites based on tides, weather, and diver experience. Manta Sandy lies 15 minutes from the resort. Blue Magic and Sardines produce schooling fusiliers, jacks, tuna, and grey sharks. The house reef itself holds blacktip reef sharks, wobbegongs, and blue-spotted rays. Snorkelers are well looked after, with calm water sites and dedicated guides.
Whether you come for the big fish action at Cape Kri, the macro treasures on the village jetties, or the simple pleasure of a freshwater pool after a day of drift dives, Agusta Eco Resort delivers a genuine, low-impact base for exploring Raja Ampat.
