SV Mona Lisa has that certain inscrutable quality about it: perhaps no oil painting but a great value-for-money option for liveaboard diving in Komodo. This Phinisi schooner, with modern teak interiors, sleeps up to only 12 guests in 6 air-conditioned en-suite cabins and operates short and affordable diving trips around the best of Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo.

Although you can make up to 4 dives a day, there are land tours and fishing gear to enjoy, and the operator aims to keep both divers and non-divers entertained at all times. You can join the boat for as short a period as you wish since you are able to board and depart the boat any day of the week. On the main deck towards the bow is the open air dining and relaxation area with a large dining table at its centre. There is also a TV, DVD and music system here so you can view your photos and fill the Indonesian air with tunes.

Rental scuba equipment, nitrox and alcoholic beverages are all available at additional cost. With 10 crew members and 12 guests, there will always be someone nearby to lend a hand and you can be sure that you won't be diving in large groups. So for an intimate and personal liveaboard trip to Komodo that won't break the bank and will fit with your timing, look no further than the Mona Lisa.

Customer reviews:

"MV would be a better name, since the crew did not remember when the sails were used the last time. The boat is really comfortable, the crew is very nice and eager to help. Divemasters were very experienced and really knew the sites we went diving. The food was of good quality and more than enough.." - , USA, 21 December 2014 ...

"The crew & divemasters were really friendly and helpful guys. But still I have to say that Mona Lisa is not very modernly equipped: such as we have to get to a speedboat for each dive rather than simply jump off the back of the mother boat." - , China, 21 March 2014 ...
