Small and intimate with 20 elegant bure cottages, the Maravu Plantation Resort in Taveuni nestles among the coconut palms and spacious lawns of hibiscus, orchids and bougainvillea, in a former plantation, providing a real sense of local history.|

The resort features include a white sandy beach (quite rare in Taveuni), swimming pool with waterfall, as well as Fijian meke dance and kava ceremonies. Maravu is one of the luxury choices on Taveuni. The resort is quiet, leafy and charming and provides a very peaceful Fijian island atmosphere.
More energetic activities include horse riding, mountain-biking, kayaking, snorkelling, hiking, 4WD-trips and world class diving in Taveuni.

At Maravu, there are 3 Deluxe Bures (rooms) with King-size beds and 2 standard Planters Bures (duplex) with inter-connecting verandahs. There are also 7 Honeymoon Bures, 4 Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and 4 Oceanview Spa Villas featuring an open air shower with private sundeck and Jacuzzi.
Hardwood floors, kiao mats, coconut and wicker furniture adorn the interiors. The reed and bamboo bures all have terraces and thatched roofs. Deluxe bures are air-conditioned whereas Planters bures are fan-cooled.

Diving Details...
The boat departs around 08:00 hrs to Rainbow Reef, Taveuni's premiere site, some 40 minutes away for a 2-dive trip. Refreshments are usually served on a deserted beach before the second dive, after which the boat returns to the resort at 13:00 hrs for a late lunch. Night and afternoon dives are available on request.
The dive centre has an 8 metre speedboat, with steel ladders, taking up to 8 divers only on trips to this spectacular and colourful coral reef. Hot water showers and rinse tanks are available at the centre.
Taveuni scuba trips include guides, coffee & tea, cookies, dry towels, tanks, weights and weightbelts. The staff will carry all your equipment and rinse it for you too.

Maravu also offers local village visits and holds courses in Fiji cooking, language, and the legends of kava, meke and lovo.

Dive Safety, Resort Security...
There are 2 recompression chambers in Fiji and both are situated in the capital Suva. One is privately owned by a local hospital and the other is provided by the Fiji Diving Association. We recommend you have your own dive insurance, as Suva is 240 km away, or a 1 hour flight.
The dive boat carries emergency oxygen and a first aid kit. A divemaster is provided for every 6 divers.
For general accidents there is a medical facility in Waiyevo, 15 km from the property.
The resort provides a safety box in reception. There is 24 hour security at Maravu and the nearest police station is 5 km away.
