SMY Mangguana is a traditional Phinisi schooner operating liveaboard trips around the Komodo National Park. You can join any day of the week via a free speedboat transfer for stays of between 3 and 10 nights. With up to 4 dives a day there is no better way to maximise your dive time in Komodo at a budget price. Land tours are also regular features for guests on the Mangguana.

This Komodo liveaboard is 27 metres in length and accommodates up to only 8 guests in 4 double or twin bed cabins with en-suite private bathrooms. With such a small number of guests you are assured of plenty of personal service from the crew of 7, as well as small dive groups.

The lounge and dining area is in the open air on the main deck and features TV, DVD and music system as well as a computer. It is here during meal times and general surface intervals you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery of Komodo and its surrounding islands. On the upper deck there is a partially shaded sun deck which is another popular spot for relaxing and taking in the views.

Nitrox is available and is unlimited for guests diving for 7 days or more. Mangguana is keen to emphasise that it caters to the needs of non-divers as well. Although this is not a luxury option, if time or budget is tight for you then this could be a great Komodo diving tour choice.

Notes: High Season Surcharge - for trips departing in October or November and 15 December to 7 January, please add 10% to the above published prices. Divers must have at least 50 dives (35 dives for advanced divers) to join this liveaboard. Otherwise, hiring of a private guide is mandatory.
The boat will be at the shipyard for renovation from the 7 January till May 2016.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, soft drinks, hot drinks, land tours in Komodo, transfers to the boat from the airport for stays of 3 nights or more, dives (as detailed in the trips above), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s), tanks, weights and weightbelts, snorkelling equipment.

Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment, dive computer, Komodo park fees per person: US$ 19 per week day and US$ 28 on Sundays to be paid in advance, fuel surcharge (subject to change, please check with us). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash only).

Optional extras: Alcoholic drinks, boat transfers for stays of less than 3 nights, nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers, torches, dive and travel insurance. Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.

How to get there: SMY Mangguana tours depart from Labuan Bajo in Flores. Flights can be arranged by the operator. There is a minibus transfer service from airports to and from the boat in Labuan Bajo. For more information see our Bali travel information section. The last dive of the trip will be at around 03.00 pm. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.

Non-diver rate: 15 to 18% off the published price.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): Add 50% to the published price.

Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 7 guests and 1 extra person can join free of charge (equivalent to 14% discount).

Whole boat charter rate (per night): US$ 2,280.

SMY Mangguana accommodates 8 divers in 4 cabins on the main deck, each with its own private en-suite bathroom and window for natural lighting. There are 3 larger Standard double/twin bed cabins and 1 smaller Standard double bed/twin bunk bed cabin.
