Cenderawasih Bay (8 Days / 7 Nights - 19 Dives)
Trip highlights: whale sharks, manta rays, great macro life/ marine diversity
Diving environment: advanced divers, beginner divers, healthy reefs, off the beaten track, wreck diving
Dive sites and activities: Cenderawasih Bay: Outer Atolls, Roon, Tanjung Manguar, Nusir Island, Teluk Wororomi. Choose between 16-19 dives or 8 spa treatments (or 6 dives and 4 spa treatments).
Day 1
The Scubaspa Zen crew meets you at the harbour in Nabire, and you step aboard this elegant yacht. Take a short rest, unpack, and let the sense of space settle in. The Cruise Manager leads a boat briefing, then the al fresco restaurant opens for a buffet-style welcome dinner. You spend the first night anchored in port. Tomorrow, Zen departs for the outer atolls.
Core Days
Cenderawasih Bay is Indonesia's largest marine park, and the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard gives you room to explore it on your own terms. You choose between dives and spa treatments. That flexibility matters here, because the surface is just as remarkable as what lies below.
The outer atolls deliver 2 full days of spectacular diving. At Wild Fish Ridge and Spag Point, endemic species pack the reefs. Then a picture-perfect island reveals a secret: downed American fighter aircraft resting on the seabed, now draped in coral. From there, the Scubaspa Zen moves to Roon for a day of critter diving. Boxer crabs wave their anemones. Notodoris nudibranchs crawl across sponges. Popcorn shrimp hide among crinoids. A Tridacna clam sits nestled in sandy patches. After 2 dives, you visit a local village, the warmth and curiosity of the people are genuine. Then back in the water for 2 more dives. Look for pygmy seahorses or the remains of a Japanese fighter aircraft embedded in the reef.
Tanjung Manguar brings a stunning wall of vibrant corals. Blackfin barracuda school above magnificent sponges and soft corals. Endemic fish species hover near the reef edge. Then you reach Teluk Wororomi, known locally as Whale Shark Bay. This is what people come for. Fishing platforms attract whale sharks in numbers you will not see anywhere else. After a short orientation, you enter the water on your own terms. The sharks feed on baitfish, seemingly unfazed by your presence. They glide past close enough to count the spots. No chasing. No guarantees of action. Just the quiet privilege of sharing the bay with giants.
On the final full day, only 2 dives take place. That is intentional. The afternoon is for cruising back to port, sunset cocktails, and a barbecue dinner on deck. Let the photos sit unedited for a while. Let the sun do its work.
Day 8
One last morning of croissants and hot coffee on the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard. Then a transfer to Nabire Airport or your hotel, depending on your after-trip plans. The crew handles the bags. You handle the memory of whale sharks turning in blue water.

Diving environment: advanced divers, beginner divers, drift diving, healthy reefs, off the beaten track, very popular, wall diving
Dive sites and activities: Nusa Penida, Sumbawa: Gili Kondo, Moyo, Teluk Saleh, Satonda, Sangeang; Komodo: Gili Banta, Gili Lawa Darat: Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, Shotgun, Batu Bolong. Dragon walk, nature and waterfall walk, scenic viewpoint hike.

For 6 nights: Choose between 13-16 dives or 7 spa treatments (or 5 dives and 3 spa treatments).
Day 1
This route pairs Komodo's famous currents with Sumbawa's quieter reefs and a genuine highlight: early morning searches for whale sharks in Saleh Bay. You board the Scubaspa Zen at Bali harbour. Fresh pastry and coffee in hand, you settle into your cabin. The cruise manager runs the crew introduction and boat briefing. After lunch, the vessel reaches Nusa Penida for an afternoon drift dive across coral slopes, a gentle warm-up. Sunset drinks on the top deck, then dinner as you sail overnight toward Sumbawa.
Core Days
Sumbawa delivers the special on this Scubaspa Zen liveaboard trip. Teluk Saleh is known for whale shark sightings. Local bagan fishing platforms often attract these animals in the early morning. You take the tenders out before breakfast, watching the surface for shadows. When a whale shark appears, you slip in quietly. No guarantees, these are wild animals, but the bay has a consistent record. The rest of Sumbawa holds its own: Gili Kondo offers sloping reefs with good coral cover, Moyo gives you clear water and resident turtles, and Satonda is a volcanic crater lake you can snorkel after a short hike. Sangeang, an active volcano, offers black sand muck diving and air vents.
Then the Scubaspa Zen crosses into Komodo National Park. Gili Banta is often the first stop, a remote island with strong currents bringing in reef sharks and schools of trevally. Gili Lawa Darat holds three famous sites. Crystal Rock is exactly what it sounds like: a granite pinnacle encrusted with hard corals, surrounded by fusiliers and bumphead parrotfish. Castle Rock sees grey reef sharks holding in the current, their dorsal fins cutting the flow. Shotgun is a drift dive that lives up to its name: you drop in, let the current take you, and hold on as you rocket past sea fans and overhangs. Batu Bolong, a rocky spire rising from deep water, has currents that change with the tide. When it works, the soft coral coverage is extraordinary, and manta rays often cruise the cleaning stations.
Above water, you step ashore for a dragon walk on Rinca or Komodo island. Park rangers lead the trek. You see the dragons from a safe distance, big, slow, and entirely indifferent to you. There is also a nature walk to a waterfall on one of the islands, and a scenic viewpoint hike that looks out over the park's trademark hills and bays.
Final Day
Enjoy one last breakfast aboard the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard in Labuan Bajo, then disembarkation. The crew helps with transfers to the airport or your hotel. You leave with a logbook that includes Komodo dragons, current drifts, and, if the bay cooperates, a whale shark encounter.

Day 1
After arriving at Labuan Bajo jetty, you'll board the splendid liveaboard Scubaspa Zen to settle into your cabin. The first day continues with a welcome session from the crew and an important liveaboard briefing from the Cruise Manager. As evening falls, enjoy a welcome dinner at the al fresco restaurant. You'll remain anchored in port for the night before setting sail southwest to Padar Island the next day.
Core Days
Diving in Komodo National Park is an unforgettable spectacle of colour and life. It is a macro photographer’s dream, revealing extraordinary critters like frogfish, ghost pipefish, and the elusive blue-ringed octopus. Yet the adventure extends far beyond the small and cryptic. Prepare for exhilarating drifts along walls teeming with grey reef sharks, giant trevally, and vast schools of surgeonfish. The vibrant soft corals form a breathtaking backdrop for turtles and even passing manta rays.
Your trip with Scubaspa Zen into the south, at sites like Nusa Kode's legendary Cannibal Rock, unveils a world of volcanic fervour. Here, nutrient-rich upwellings fuel an explosion of life, creating a vibrant tapestry of colourful soft corals, sea apples, and crinoids that blanket the seamount. This is the realm of the rare and unusual, where you might spot the psychedelic rhinopias, robust ghost pipefish, and even painted frogfish. Nearby, Torpedo Alley offers a truly electric experience, named for the numerous electric rays and leopard sharks resting on the sandy bottom.
For a complete contrast, the northern sites around Gili Lawa Darat deliver pure, adrenaline-fuelled action. At Shotgun, the namesake current funnels between 2 islands, creating an exhilarating rush where schools of giant trevally and dogtooth tuna hunt in the flow. Castle Rock and Crystal Rock are submerged pinnacles that act as massive magnets for pelagic action. Descending into the blue, you are surrounded by a dizzying vortex of jackfish and batfish, while reef sharks patrol the depths below. These sites offer some of Komodo's most iconic and heart-pounding dives.
Beyond the thrilling currents and pelagics, the park also offers moments of serene beauty. A dive at Pink Beach treats you to gentle slopes adorned with vibrant hard corals, a perfect spot for encountering turtles and reef sharks in calmer waters. And no liveaboard trip to Komodo would be complete without the legendary pilgrimage to Manta Alley, where you can witness the graceful ballet of numerous manta rays as they glide past to be cleaned on the current-swept reef.
The cruise is complemented by a trek to encounter the legendary Komodo dragons. On the final full day, you will enjoy 2 last dives as a grand finale before the liveaboard begins its relaxed cruise back to port, allowing you to reflect on an incredible week. Sunset cocktails and a BBQ dinner will be served.
Final Day
Last chance to enjoy croissants and hot drinks on Scubaspa Zen before you travel to Labuan Bajo Airport or hotel, according to your after-trip plans.
Raja Ampat & Triton Bay (11 Days / 10 Nights - 26 Dives)
Trip highlights: whale sharks, shark action, manta rays, turtles, great macro life/ marine diversity, schooling fish & big pelagics
Diving environment: advanced divers, caverns, drift diving, healthy reefs, off the beaten track, wall diving
Dive sites and activities: Raja Ampat: Misool - Daram, Wayilbatan, Pelee, Fiabacet; Dampier Strait, Cape Kri, Mioskon; Pisang, Fak-Fak, Triton Bay (incl. bagans). Visit waterfall. Choose between 22-26 dives or 11 spa treatments (or 10 dives and 6 spa treatments).
Day 1
You board the Scubaspa Zen at Kaimana harbour. The crew helps you settle in, the cruise manager runs the boat briefing, and the spa team opens for bookings. Welcome dinner comes as the sun drops, served al fresco.
Core Days
For divers who want more than the usual Raja Ampat route, the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard opens up a longer expedition that pairs southern Raja Ampat with the wild, less-visited waters of Triton Bay. You choose your pace: dives, treatments, or a balance between. Whichever you pick, the diving stays exceptional - whale sharks at floating bagans, black coral forests, and Misool’s famous soft coral gardens.
The itinerary splits its time between 2 of Indonesia’s finest diving regions. Triton Bay comes first. This area sees far fewer liveaboards than Raja Ampat, so reefs feel fresher and encounters more personal. You dive among towering black coral forests and slopes thick with soft corals. One morning, the tender takes you to the bagan fishing platforms, traditional lift-net structures where whale sharks regularly gather. Sliding into the water near these gentle giants ranks as a genuine privilege. The reef diving holds its own: epaulette sharks hunt across sandy patches, bumphead parrotfish cruise in schools, and macro lovers spend whole dives on frogfish, xeno crabs, and pygmy seahorses. Between dives, the Scubaspa Zen diverts to Fak-Fak for a tender ride to a waterfall, cool, freshwater and a perfect break from saltwater immersion.
Then the Scubaspa Zen turns toward Misool. Daram and Fiabacet deliver dramatic underwater topography: steep walls, overhangs, and caves where wobbegongs tuck themselves into crevices. Wayilbatan pushes currents that bring in plankton, which in turn brings mantas. Pelee offers swim-throughs lined with pastel corals and frequent reef shark sightings. The Dampier Strait gives you Cape Kri and Mioskon, both known for their sheer fish count, jacks, barracuda, and snapper stacking the water column. Blue Magic, a submerged seamount, often attracts giant manta rays. Sardine Reef (the name is a relic; don't expect sardines) pulses with fusiliers, surgeonfish, and trevally against a backdrop of sea fans and elephant ear sponges.
The Scubaspa Zen liveaboard keeps the experience comfortable. Diving is run from 2 large tenders, groups stay small, and guides know exactly where to find Pontohi pygmy seahorses on Dampier Strait dives.
Day 11
A last breakfast of fresh croissants and hot drinks. Then transfer to Sorong Airport or your hotel, depending on your flight. The crew helps with bags and check-in. You leave with a logbook full of unusual entries: whale sharks from a bagan, black corals from Triton, mantas from Misool.

The day will conclude with a buffet-style welcome dinner in the al fresco restaurant.
Core Days
Raja Ampat is celebrated as the global epicentre of marine biodiversity, offering an unparalleled underwater spectacle. As you explore this premier national park, you'll be welcomed by a staggering array of life, from bumphead parrotfish and turtles to cryptic jawfish and delicate soft coral crabs. The waters teem with common encounters like endemic wobbegong sharks, blacktip reef sharks, massive schools of trevally and barracuda, and countless nudibranchs. Your liveaboard safari with Scubaspa Zen will take you to sites that truly define Raja Ampat's reputation.
At Cape Kri, prepare for a sensory overload as you embark on what is often called a "fish vortex" dive, where massive, circling schools of trevally, barracuda, and fusiliers surround you in a breathtaking display of abundance. Similarly, the vibrant reefs of Mansuar and Kawe are not only bustling with fish life but are also renowned cleaning stations where majestic oceanic manta rays glide in to have parasites removed by smaller fish a truly humbling sight. For those seeking dramatic topography, the island of Penemu offers breathtaking underwater seamounts and hidden lagoons, while the iconic pinnacles of Fiabacet in the Misool region rise from the abyss, adorned in soft corals and hosting pygmy seahorses.
Beyond the classic reef dives, the region offers uniquely magical experiences. A visit to the ethereal Jellyfish Lake provides a chance to swim harmlessly with millions of golden jellyfish in a secluded inland marine lake. For a change of pace, you can explore the magnificent Tomolol Cave, a cathedral-like cavern where you can snorkel or paddle through chambers illuminated by shafts of sunlight.
These moments of serene exploration perfectly complement the bustling reef action. As your liveaboard adventure draws to a close, the final dives on the Scubaspa Zen itinerary allow for final encounters with the vibrant macro life of sites like Friwinbonda, known for its delicate crinoids and Coleman shrimp, before the liveaboard begins its tranquil afternoon cruise back to port, giving you time to reflect on an unforgettable tour.

There is time to unpack, book spa slots, and watch the sunset over central Raja Ampat from the open-air restaurant during the welcome dinner.
Core Days
For scuba divers seeking a liveaboard holiday that balances bold underwater adventure with genuine relaxation, the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard in Raja Ampat delivers something rare. This is not a rigid, day-by-day dive boot camp. Instead, you choose your rhythm: dives, spa treatments, or a balanced mix. Either way, the setting remains the same: one of the planet’s most biodiverse marine regions, explored from a vessel designed for comfort.
This itinerary focuses on the southern and central routes, where limestone karsts rise from turquoise water and reefs show their full colour. Early mornings often start with a dive in the Dampier Strait, where hard coral gardens shelter wobbegongs, turtles, and passing pelagics. From there, the Scubaspa Zen moves toward the Fam Islands. Above water, you hike the Penemu viewpoint for that classic Raja Ampat panorama; below, Melissa’s Garden lives up to its reputation with some of the most pristine coral cover anywhere.
Heading south to Misool, the diving shifts gear. At Daram and Fiabacet, the remoteness means fewer boats and more sense of discovery. Wayilbatan and Pelee offer walls draped in soft corals, while Farondi presents steep drop-offs where barracuda and trevally hunt. Magic Mountain and Boo Window are genuine scuba highlights, the former for regular manta encounters and shark sightings, the latter for a shallow swim-through alive with reef fish. The Scubaspa Zen liveaboard dive guides know the sites intimately, from the current-swept ridges of Dampier to the sheltered lagoons of Misool.
Between dives, you might take a tender to a sandy beach for a sunset barbecue, or walk inland to witness the red birds of paradise perform their dawn courtship ritual. One afternoon, the crew offers a visit to a stingless jellyfish lake, a surreal, gentle drift among countless small medusae. Tomolol Cave adds a different texture: a half-submerged cavern where light filters through rock fissures, suitable for snorkelling or a shallow dive.
Day 8
After a last breakfast of fresh croissants and hot drinks, the crew escorts you to Sorong Airport. They help with check-in. You leave with memory cards full of reef scenes and the quiet confidence that comes from travelling with a boat that gets the details right.

Diving environment: advanced divers, caverns, drift diving, healthy reefs, off the beaten track, wall diving
Dive sites and activities: Ambon Bay, Nusa Laut, Banda Islands: Run, Ai, Banda Api, Batu Kapal, Banda Neira, Pohon Miring; Koon, Raja Ampat: Misool: Daram, Fiabacet, Wayilbatan, Boo, Farondi, Jellyfish Lake, Tomolol Cave; Batanta.
10 nights: Choose between 22-26 dives or 11 spa treatments (or 10 dives and 6 spa treatments).
7 nights: Choose between 16-19 dives or 8 spa treatments (or 6 dives and 4 spa treatments).
Day 1
This is a route for divers who want the full Indonesian arc: volcanic muck, remote spice islands, and Raja Ampat’s southern reefs. The Scubaspa Zen liveaboard covers serious distance, Ambon to Sorong, and the variety is extraordinary.
You board the Scubaspa Zen at Ambon Bay harbour. Time to unpack and find your bearings. The cruise manager runs the boat briefing, the spa team opens for bookings, and dinner comes in the open-air restaurant as the evening settles in.
Core Days
The expedition starts with one of the world’s best muck dives. Ambon Bay’s black sand slopes look unremarkable until you drop down. Then the hunt begins: psychedelic frogfish, Ambon scorpionfish, mimic octopus, rhinopias. Your guide knows the patches of sand where these animals hide. It takes patience and a good torch. The rewards are exceptional.
From Ambon, the Scubaspa Zen crosses to the Banda Islands. Here, history meets diving. You explore Run, Ai, and Banda Neira, the original Spice Islands, once fought over by colonial powers. Below the surface, Batu Kapal offers a submerged pinnacle draped in sea fans, with schools of fusiliers and occasional hammerheads passing in the blue. Pohon Miring delivers soft coral slopes and resident turtles. Nusa Laut, between Ambon and Banda, adds another flavour: sloping reefs with good macro life and the occasional turtle. One afternoon, you go ashore to walk the old Dutch forts and nutmeg plantations. It is a genuine break from diving, and it adds context to this remote corner of Indonesia.
Then the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard pushes east toward Raja Ampat’s southern region: Misool. Daram and Fiabacet introduce you to the classic Misool topography: limestone karsts rising sheer from the water, underwater walls covered in pastel soft corals. Wayilbatan pushes currents that bring in mantas. Boo Window is a shallow swim-through where light pours in and reef fish pack the gap. Farondi drops into deeper water, often visited by barracuda and trevally. Between dives, you can visit a stingless jellyfish lake, a strange, gentle float among thousands of small medusae, or take a torch into Tomolol Cave, a half-submerged cavern with invertebrate life on every surface. The expedition also includes dives at Batanta, the least visited of Raja Ampat’s 4 main islands. Dives here tend to be quieter, with fewer boats and healthy hard coral gardens.
Please note: only two morning dives are offered on the final full day before the crossing back to port.
Final Day
A last breakfast of fresh croissants and hot drinks, then transfer to Sorong Airport. The crew helps with bags. You leave with a logbook that jumps from psychedelic frogfish to Banda hammerheads to Misool mantas, an arc few liveaboard routes manage.
Triton Bay, Banda Sea & Ambon
Trip highlights: whale sharks, whales, turtles, great macro life/ marine diversity, schooling fish & big pelagics
Diving environment: advanced divers, drift diving, healthy reefs, off the beaten track, wall diving
Dive sites and activities: Ambon Bay, Nusa Laut, Banda Islands: Run, Ai, Banda Api, Batu Kapal, Banda Neira, Pohon Miring; Koon, Fak-Fak or Papisoi, Triton Bay (incl. bagans)
10 nights: Choose between 22-26 dives or 11 spa treatments (or 10 dives and 6 spa treatments).
7 nights: Choose between 16-19 dives or 8 spa treatments (or 6 dives and 4 spa treatments).
Day 1
You board the Scubaspa Zen at Kaimana harbour. Settle into your cabin, then attend the crew welcome and boat briefing led by the cruise manager. The evening closes with a welcome dinner in the open-air restaurant as the light fades over the bay.
Core Days
For divers chasing Indonesia’s less-travelled corners, this route delivers 3 distinct worlds: the remote southern reefs of Triton Bay, the volcanic spice islands of the Banda Sea, and the muck-diving capital of Ambon. The Scubaspa Zen liveaboard runs this expedition as a 10-night trip (Kaimana to Ambon) or a 7-night version.
Triton Bay comes first. This part of West Papua sees few liveaboards, so reefs feel intact and encounters personal. You dive among soft coral gardens and towering black coral forests. The bagan fishing platforms offer something rare: chance encounters with whale sharks that gather below the nets. One morning you might snorkel or dive alongside these gentle giants. The reef diving holds its own, epaulette sharks hunt across sandy patches, bumphead parrotfish cruise in schools, and macro lovers find pygmy seahorses, harlequin shrimp, and orang-utan crabs. Weather permitting, the Scubaspa Zen stops at Fak-Fak or Papisoi for a tender ride to a waterfall, cool fresh water and a proper break from salt.
Then the Scubaspa Zen crosses to the Banda Islands. Here, history sits alongside world-class diving. You explore Run, Ai, and Banda Neira, the original Spice Islands, once fought over by the Dutch and English. Below the surface, Batu Kapal is a submerged pinnacle draped in sea fans, with schools of fusiliers and occasional hammerheads in the blue. Pohon Miring delivers soft coral slopes and resident turtles. At Banda Api, the volcano’s flank drops into clear water with good reef cover. One afternoon you go ashore to walk the old Dutch forts and nutmeg plantations, a genuine cultural layer that many Indo trips miss.
Koon offers a different flavour: a remote island with steep walls and strong currents that bring in pelagics. Then Nusa Laut, near Ambon, provides a contrast with clearer water, sloping coral reefs, and relaxed drift dives among sweetlips, batfish, and bannerfish.
The final act is Ambon Bay. Do not judge this place from the surface. The black sand slopes of Laha and other sites hold an extraordinary collection of rare critters: psychedelic frogfish, Ambon scorpionfish, rhinopias, mimic octopus, and more nudibranch species than you can count. Your guide knows the patches of sand where these animals hide. It takes a torch and some patience. The rewards are worth it. All the while, the Scubaspa Zen liveaboard keeps the experience comfortable.
Day 11
One last breakfast aboard the Scubaspa Zen, then disembarkation in Ambon. The crew coordinates transfers according to your flight schedule. You leave with a logbook that spans whale sharks, hammerheads, and colourful frogfish - a rare triple.
