Days 2-7
The classic Central Atolls cruise route includes dives at Ari, Felidhoo, North and South Male atolls, primarily in order to find manta rays and whale sharks. South Male features large schools of fish, big pelagics, plenty of soft corals and caves, as well as one very good wreck. Miyaru Faru is aptly named since ‘miyaru’ means shark in Dhivehi and not surprisingly this is where you can encounter the ‘big boys’. An overhang protects you from the current and provides an excellent viewing spot for the impressive parade of pelagics and patrolling grey reef sharks.
The channel at Felidhoo Atoll is also a great place to find reef sharks and has a spectacular wall showcasing caverns, swim-throughs and overhangs festooned with colourful soft corals and bushes of black corals. There is also a spectacular night dive with dozens of huge nurse sharks, sting rays and giant trevallies. Ari Atoll is famous for its mighty whale sharks which can be regularly seen in its marine protected areas. Hammerhead sharks, manta rays and other pelagic fish are also commonly encountered here. North Male is characterised by reefs, caves, current-swept channels and drop offs. Highlights here include tuna, jacks, reef sharks, mantas and eagle rays.
A typical day on this safari begins at sunrise with tea, coffee and the first dive. At 8.30 am a continental and local breakfast is served while the yacht moves on to the next site. At 10.30 am the second dive takes place, followed by lunch at 12.30 pm. At 2 pm there is a third dive, at 4 pm - island hopping or well-deserved rest. Once per week there is a sunset or night dive. At 6.30 pm the bar opens for social time, and at 8 pm dinner is served. Then the rest of the evening is yours under the Indian Ocean stars.
Meals are taken in the indoor restaurant enjoying AC, or outside on the main deck terrace; Meals are buffet-style prepared by the chef and his assistant, who is always around to make sure nobody misses anything while enjoying the freshly prepared international and local food. The crew often fishes during the day and offer fresh fish to the guests when they make a good catch. When the weather and route allows, a barbecue on an inhabited island is organized by the staff. Water, tea, coffee and snacks are available throughout the day, as well as bananas to prevent cramps and to ensure a good mood onboard!

Day 8

Days 2-7
This Northern Atolls cruise route includes dives at Baa and Lhaviyani atolls, as well as at North Male Atoll. It is a popular option between July and mid-November as the southwestern monsoon brings huge concentrations of plankton in to the Northern Atolls and this attracts mantas. Here you will visit and snorkel in the world famous Hanifaru Bay where hundreds of manta rays gather in a spectacular feeding frenzy. Watch them barrel roll as they scoop up huge mouthfuls of nourishing plankton.
At Lhaviyani the channels attract a lot of marine life including grey reef sharks and there are plenty of colourful soft corals. Diving on pinnacles are also one of the highlights of the tour, as they shelter fish from the currents. Near Lhaviyani you will dive the most famous wreck site: 2 wrecks located at different depths, one right on the reef in shallow water while the other one at a depth of 30m. The wrecks are surrounded by an abundance of marine life. North Male features reefs and drop offs rich in nutrients that attract large pelagics like manta rays. Other highlights include Napoleon wrasse, hawksbill turtles, giant trevallies, barracudas and other schools of large fish.
