To experience the full range of Red Sea scuba diving opportunities, from the legendary wrecks of the north to the shark-rich waters of the south, requires a vessel that balances comfort with serious diving capability. The Blue Melody liveaboard delivers exactly that. Operating out of Hurghada, this 38-metre motor yacht has earned its reputation through multiple dive magazine awards and consistently excellent guest feedback, offering dive charters that cover both the northern wrecks and the southern marine parks.

Step onboard the MY Blue Melody, and the layout immediately makes sense for divers. 4 well-equipped decks give everyone space to spread out. The upper deck houses 3 Premium double cabins with their own character, while the lower deck features 10 Classic twin cabins arranged along a central corridor. Every cabin comes with private en-suite facilities, individual climate control, and thoughtful touches like a mini-bar and entertainment system. The saloon on the main deck offers air-conditioned comfort with entertainment facilities, while the upper deck provides a second indoor lounge that opens onto an outdoor seating area. The sun deck offers loungers for those moments between dives, while the partially shaded areas on the upper deck provide a cool retreat with a drink in hand.

The dive deck itself is where the practical details matter most. Individual diver stations with under-seat crates keep gear organised. 2 dedicated rinse hoses and freshwater tanks make post-dive cleanup quick and easy. There is a charging station for batteries, nitrox available for those with certification, and the boat is set up to accommodate rebreather and technical divers on request . With 2 tenders to shuttle divers to sites and a spacious platform for entries and exits, the focus stays firmly on getting in the water efficiently.

Where Blue Melody truly stands out is in the safari routes that it covers. Northern routes take you to the SS Thistlegorm, the Abu Nuhas wreck cemetery, and the reefs of Ras Mohammed and Tiran. For those seeking pelagic action, southern charters reach the Brothers Islands, Daedalus Reef, and Elphinstone, places where oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, and thresher sharks patrol the walls. The Blue Melody liveaboard operates year-round, with trips timed to maximise encounters based on seasonal conditions.

Operated by Master Liveaboards, MY Blue Melody comes with the backing of an established name in Red Sea diving. The vessel underwent a significant refit in 2025, meaning cabins, systems, and facilities are in top condition. Crew-to-guest ratios allow for attentive service, and dive guides bring local knowledge that makes a difference on sites like the Thistlegorm, where timing and route-planning separate a good dive from an exceptional one. Guest reviews consistently highlight the professionalism of the crew, the quality of the food, and the sense of safety throughout the trip .

A week aboard MY Blue Melody liveaboard settles into its own natural pace. Up to 4 dives a day, morning briefings over coffee, the quiet concentration of a camera table after a dive, and the easy camaraderie that forms among a small group sharing the same experience. Whether you are ticking off bucket-list wrecks or drifting along a pristine wall in the south, the combination of a well-run vessel, an experienced crew, and the diversity of the Red Sea makes for a liveaboard trip worth booking early.

The famous Brother Islands are among the best loved sites of the Red Sea. They are 2 exposed promontories which act as a magnet for marine life. You can dive along walls festooned with soft corals, anemones and brightly coloured sponges. Sharks are frequently sighted here: scalloped hammerheads, silvertips, whitetips and grey reef sharks being the most numerous. At Big Brother there is a wreck called the Numidia which lies in the shallows and is bedecked in hard and soft corals and gorgonians fans. At Daedalus and Elphinstone the reefs are full of myriad tropical fish plus schools of trevallies, fusiliers and surgeonfish. Sharks here are more likely to be hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and threshers. You can also see manta rays in the summer time.
Normally you can expect 3 dives a day in the Red Sea marine parks; 2 morning dives and a 3rd in the afternoon. On the last day before disembarkation, there will only be 2 dives before the boat sails back to port.

The MY Blue Melody liveaboard follows a comfortable, efficient routine that maximises time in the water, balanced with good food and downtime. The goal is simple: dive, eat, rest, repeat. Most days, you might wake to the gentle thrum of the engines arriving at a new site, with coffee and a light breakfast available from around 6:30 am. The first dive is typically briefed just before 7 am. After that dive, you return to the boat, stow gear, and a full cooked breakfast is served. This gives the surface interval time to work before the second dive of the morning.

A buffet-style lunch is laid out around 12 noon, after the second dive. The afternoon is yours to relax on the sun deck or in the shaded lounge before the third dive briefing, usually around 3:30 pm. A late afternoon dive often has the best light. On most days, you can expect 4 dives (but only 3 in the southern marine parks).

The crew on the MY Blue Melody knows that divers have hearty appetites. Meals are buffet-style, served in the air-conditioned dining room, and there is always plenty. The morning spread starts with a full cooked option. Eggs are cooked to order - fried, scrambled, or omelette. You’ll also find pancakes, sausages, cheese, cereals, toast, and fresh fruit.

Meals lean heavily on fresh ingredients. Expect a variety of fresh vegetables, rice, and pasta dishes. Proteins rotate between fresh fish, chicken, and beef. The style is mostly international - grilled fish with lemon, roast chicken, and vegetable stir-fries - but the Blue Melody crew will often add local touches. You might find a tagine or a spiced Egyptian fish dish on the menu. Between dives, there are always snacks. A bowl of fresh fruit, cookies, and juice are out for whenever you need a quick bite. There is a constant supply of black, green, and herbal teas, along with coffee and drinking water. Soft drinks are also included.
