After you land in Hurghada you will be met at the arrival terminal and given assistance with your visa on arrival. A 20 minute air-conditioned van ride will take you to the marina where the Blue Melody is moored. Guests will arrive throughout the day. Dinner will be served before bedding down for a good night’s sleep before the fun days ahead.
Core Days
The SS Thistlegorm is by far the best-known wreck in the Red Sea. It sits upright on the sea-floor at a maximum of 32m depth. You can see and dive around its cargo of tanks, motorcycles, trucks, weapons, railway carriage and 2 railway engines. The Abu Nuhas reef is renowned for its 4 wrecks, which draw in divers from around the globe. They are now encrusted with beautiful corals attracting numerous reef fish. Thousands of glassfish lurk in shallow sections insider the wreck. The Ras Mohammed marine park promises excellent diving, particularly at Yolanda reef and Shark reef. Both feature excellent hard and soft coral coverage, large numbers of fish and sharks, especially on early morning dives.
Normally you can expect 4 dives a day; 2 morning dives, a 3rd in the afternoon, and a night dive or sunset dive. On the last day before disembarkation, there will only be 2 dives before the boat sails back to port.

You will surely have fun while diving drop-offs, wrecks, huge gorgonians and colourful soft corals that are home to octopus, lionfish, nudibranchs, frogfish, large schools of fish: an underwater photographer’s dream! Bucket list encounters include hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, whale sharks, thresher sharks and manta rays. Lots of curious turtles, Napoleon wrasse and whitetip reef sharks will be common encounters on several occasions!
This route also allows you to visit famous wrecks in the northern Red Sea where you will experience a mix of wreck dives and reef dives. Ras Mohamed is one of the best kept national parks in Egypt. Its waters are rich in nutrients, attracting pelagics. The most famous wreck in the Red Sea, the SS Thistlegorm, will leave you in awe: it was sunk in 1941 after being bombed by the German Luftwaffe! With its historical cargo of World War II machinery and equipment, all neatly stowed in its open holds, the Thistlegorm would be a highlight of diving anywhere in the world. The Rosalie Moeller, carrying a cargo of coal, suffered the same fate just 2 days later.
On the penultimate day of the tour the boat will head back to port, after 2 morning dives.

Core Days
The famous Brother Islands are among the best loved sites of the Red Sea. They are 2 exposed promontories which act as a magnet for marine life. You can dive along walls festooned with soft corals, anemones and brightly coloured sponges. Sharks are frequently sighted here: scalloped hammerheads, silvertips, whitetips and grey reef sharks being the most numerous. At Big Brother there is a wreck called the Numidia which lies in the shallows and is bedecked in hard and soft corals and gorgonians fans. At Daedalus and Elphinstone the reefs are full of myriad tropical fish plus schools of trevallies, fusiliers and surgeonfish. Sharks here are more likely to be hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and threshers. You can also see manta rays in the summer time.

Mantas, grey reef and silvertip sharks can often be seen in the blue.

Sha'ab Claude is a classic dive with its famous swim-throughs and huge porites corals, Malahi with its mazes and friendly turtles, and Abu Galawa Soraya with its fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat smothered with glassfish. Sataya, with its resident spinner dolphin population, is a must for snorkelling between dives, as well as having some good underwater offerings. At Daedalus and Elphinstone the reefs are full of myriad tropical fish plus schools of trevallies, fusiliers and surgeonfish. Safaga has some great diving, offering a combination of shallow reef dives like Panorama Reef, and drop-offs, as well as unforgettable wreck diving on the Salem Express, a 100-metre ferry boat that hosts frogfish, blue-spotted stingrays, schools of angel and butterfly fish. The ship is now covered in hard and soft corals.

Colour is provided by the huge gorgonians and brightly hued soft corals. Mantas, grey reef and silvertip sharks can often be seen in the blue. Octopus, lionfish, nudibranchs, frogfish, large schools of fish are all commonly sighted. There are also likely encounters with curious turtles, Napoleon wrasses and whitetip reef sharks, while dugongs are more difficult creatures to find.
By contrast, The Fury Shoals is a vast reef system. Shaab Claude is a classic dive with its famous swim-throughs and huge porites corals, while Malahi features maze-like topography and friendly turtles. Abu Galawa Soraya is home to both a fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat with thick schools of glassfish all around.
