MY Excellence is a stylish purpose built Hurghada liveaboard running diving charters around some of the best dive sites of the Southern Red Sea, both in Egyptian and Sudanese waters. Up to 24 divers can be accommodated in 12 twin and double en-suite cabins. 4 of the cabins are on the upper deck giving superior views and more natural light.
The decking is teak wood and all the interior spaces are tastefully furnished in oak and mahogany and are comfortable. You can hang out in the large air conditioned lounge and dining room on the main deck which comes complete with full multimedia entertainment, free internet facility, and even a bar for those post dive tipples. This is the main social spot on the boat, as well as the partially shaded sundeck which suits sun bathers and shade-seekers alike.

Dive experience: Recommended on the Red Sea liveaboard cruises: North & Wrecks safaris - Open Water diver license and 20 logged dives; for St. Johns Reefs safaris - Open Water diver license and 30 logged dives; for Sudan, Brothers, Daedalus Reef & Elphinstone safaris - Advanced Open Water diver license and 50 logged dives.
Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, soft drinks, water and hot drinks (e.g. instant coffee, tea), dives (as detailed in the trips above), port and park fees, nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers (Egypt trips only), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s) (8 divers per DM), tanks, weights and weightbelts, return transfers - boat-airport.
Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (incl. dive computer or torch, US$ 184 per week), diving insurance. For Sudan trips - entry visa (US$ 225, or US$ 275 for USA nationals - in new bank notes), Sudanese taxes (US$ 195 for 1 week), fuel surcharge and taxes (US$ 100 for 1 week). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash or credit card).
Optional extras: Alcoholic drinks, torch (US$ 42 per week), 15 litre tank (US$ 47 per week), nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers (Sudan trips only - US$ 74 per week). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.
How to get there: Egypt trips: MY Excellence departs from Hurghada and Port Ghalib, and return transfers from local airports to the departure point can be arranged. Check in time starts at 5 pm on the first day (boat departs the next morning). Check out before 10 am on the last day (last night usually on the boat in the harbour). Late arrivals or early departures can be arranged. For more details see our travel information section for the Red Sea. Sudan trips: Excellence departs from Port Sudan for Sudan liveaboard trips. There are flights from Cairo to Port Sudan with Egypt Air and Sudan Airways. This is a much easier route than flying into Khartoum. Included in the Sudan visa fee are return transfers from Port Sudan to the departure point.
The last dive of the trip will be at around 13:00 hrs noon on the second last day of the trip. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.
Non-diver rate: 5-10% off the published price. Depends on season and request.
Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of 80% of the published price.
Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 7 guests and 1 extra person can join the cruise in a standard cabin free of charge.

Excellence can accommodate 24 divers in 12 cabins. There are 8 cabins on the lower deck with twin side-by-side beds and portholes. There are also 4 double/twin bed cabins with windows on the upper deck. All the cabins have private en-suite bathrooms.

Dining on board the MY Excellence starts with dinner on the first day and consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, plus snacks to ensure you are never hungry. You can expect a varied menu comprising a range of international dishes plus some local specialties. Meals are buffet-style with steward assistance.
