Welcome onboard the Blue Force 2, a liveaboard boat based in Sharm El Sheikh that specialises in diving trips around the Sinai Peninsula and the northern wrecks of the Red Sea, including the Thistlegorm, Abu Nuhas, Ras Mohammed and Tiran. There is no minimum number of logged dives required for guests to join these cruises, making it the ideal choice for first time liveaboard divers, yet its tours and facilities easily satisfy more experienced divers looking for efficient access to world-class diving.
Accommodation on the Blue Force 2 liveaboard balances comfort with practicality. The boat hosts just 18 guests in 9 twin cabins, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning. Lower deck cabins offer excellent value, while the 4 upper deck cabins feature large windows that bring in natural light and sea views. This smaller scale creates a relaxed, sociable atmosphere where you quickly get to know fellow divers between dives. The cabins are kept meticulously clean, and the overall setup ensures you spend less time on logistics and more on enjoying the trip.
The communal spaces are designed for unwinding above the water. The main deck houses an open-plan, air-conditioned saloon where meals are served and dive briefings take place. Upstairs, the shaded outdoor lounge and bar area is a popular spot for sundowners, where guests gather to recount the day’s highlights. For those who prefer to soak up the sun, the spacious sundeck offers loungers and beanbags, while a smaller tanning area at the bow provides a quieter retreat.
Diving operations on the Blue Force 2 are efficient and well-organised. 2 Zodiacs with 40 HP Yamaha engines serve as tenders, allowing for quick access to sites and minimising surface intervals. The dedicated dive deck provides personal storage, a camera table with charging points, and rinse tanks for equipment. A notable feature is that nitrox fills are available free of charge for certified enriched air divers, allowing for extended bottom times on deeper wrecks and walls. The dive deck also includes fresh water showers and bathrooms for post-dive comfort.
The Blue Force 2 diving tours from Sharm El Sheikh are structured to make the most of the Sinai’s variety. Over the course of a week, you can expect up to 4 dives a day, encompassing everything from drift dives through the current-swept reefs of Tiran to immersive explorations of the Thistlegorm’s cargo holds. Ras Mohammed National Park delivers spectacular wall dives where pelagics pass through, and the Abu Nuhas wrecks offer a fascinating mix of history and marine life. The routes are designed with short sailing times, meaning more time in the water and a relaxed pace onboard.

A welcome cocktail and dinner will be served before the yacht anchors for the night.
Core Days
This dive trip is a celebrated classic, blending the historical exploration of the Red Sea's most accessible wrecks with the high-energy reef diving of the exposed northern pinnacles. The Blue Force 2 initially steers through the Sinai towards the famous wartime sites, ensuring multiple dives on the iconic SS Thistlegorm. This monumental World War II vessel rests upright at 32 metres, serving as an exceptional underwater museum. Its open holds reveal a visible cargo of trucks, motorbikes, and military equipment, all now providing a complex shelter for massive schools of batfish, jackfish, and barracuda. Further wreck exploration includes the shallower Kingston Wreck and the unusual, coral-filled passage known as Small Crack near Shag Rock.
The tour continues into the Ras Mohammed National Park. Here, the Blue Force 2 provides access to renowned dive sites such as Shark and Yolanda Reefs, where strong currents draw in large gatherings of snappers, groupers, and frequently, grey reef sharks. At Yolanda, divers observe the unique sight of the cargo scattered across the reef base. Other key dives include Anemone City, a large sloping coral garden blanketed in thousands of vibrant anemones, and Jackfish Alley, a popular area where sizeable pelagic fish patrol. The area around Ras Ghazlani offers quieter dives over exceptionally pristine reef formations.
The final major diving focus is the Strait of Tiran, defined by four enormous coral atolls: Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, and Gordon reefs. These magnificent structures rise dramatically from the depths and are known for their spectacular topography, with walls densely covered in lush sea fans and hard corals. The strait is a prominent migration corridor, providing the chance to observe schooling scalloped hammerhead sharks during the northern summer months. This Blue Force 2 diving route ensures an excellent mix of history and vibrant reef ecology.
Following 2 morning dives on the last full day, the Blue Force 2 returns to the Sharm El Sheikh marina in the late afternoon.

Core Days
This diving tour aboard the Blue Force 2 liveaboard is a definitive exploration of the northern Red Sea, combining historical wreck diving with the region's most magnificent, current-swept reef systems. Blue Force 2 offers experienced divers a deep dive into both history and vibrant ecology.
A major focus of the trip is the area's iconic shipwrecks. You descend upon the legendary SS Thistlegorm, the massive WWII wreck lying at 32 metres, famous for its intact cargo of trucks and military vehicles, now heavily colonised by life, including schooling batfish. You will also explore the wreck of the Dunraven, resting upside down near Beacon Rock, and the Ulysses, a classic cargo vessel. The safari extends to the Abu Nuhas reef to investigate the easily penetrable Giannis D and the historical Carnatic. Shallow wreck exploration is also possible at dive sites like the Kingston Wreck and Small Crack near Shag Rock.
The expedition includes extensive diving within the Ras Mohammed National Park. This protected area features some of the world's most dramatic wall dives. At Shark and Yolanda Reefs, strong currents attract large pelagic schools and reef sharks, while the famous site of Anemone City is a stunning blanket of purple and orange. Dives at Jackfish Alley and Ras Ghazlani offer the chance to see larger marine animals patrolling the blue, alongside stunning, pristine hard coral formations.
Finally, the Blue Force 2 navigates the Strait of Tiran, defined by 4 majestic coral pillars: Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, and Gordon reefs. These structures are known for intense currents that feed spectacular growths of soft corals and attract pelagics like large tuna and barracuda. Jackson Reef is particularly noted for potential sightings of schooling hammerhead sharks during the warmer months, making this a truly essential section of the Red Sea experience.
Day 8
After breakfast, you will disembark in Sharm El Sheikh and transfer to a nearby hotel. Today you have free time to enjoy the local shopping and night life, whilst off-gassing the residual nitrogen. You will take dinner and spend the night in the hotel.
Day 9
You will wake up after a peaceful night and, after breakfast, say farewell to all your new friends. The crew will transfer you back to the airport.

On the Blue Force 2 liveaboard, the days are built around getting you into the water as much as possible, while ensuring the moments between dives are comfortable, relaxed, and perfectly timed. The day starts early, but with good reason. A light breakfast is served from around 6:30 am, giving you the chance for a quick bite before the first morning dive. The idea is get in the water while the light is still low and the marine life is at its most active. After that first dive, the boat settles into a more leisurely pace. You return to a full cooked breakfast, the smell of eggs, fresh bread, and coffee filling the indoor dining area as you swap observations with other divers about what you have just seen.
There is no rush. The Blue Force 2 crew uses the time between meals to reposition the boat for the next site, and before you know it, it is time for the second dive of the morning. Back on board, you rinse your gear and hang it on your designated spot on the dive deck. Lunch is a relaxed affair, served buffet style. You might find a spread of grilled chicken, spiced kofta, or a tagine alongside fresh salads, pasta, and rice. It is international food with a strong Egyptian influence, and there is always plenty to refuel for the afternoon. After lunch comes the quiet period. Some divers nap in their cabins. Others find a spot on the sun deck with a book or simply watch the shoreline pass. It is a genuine pause, letting your body absorb the day before the third dive, typically scheduled for mid-afternoon. As the sun begins to dip, the crew will prepare for a night dive if the tour allows, usually scheduled just before dinner. This is often a highlight: diving in the Red Sea after dark reveals a completely different cast of characters.
Evenings are unhurried. Dinner is served in the liveaboard's main saloon, another buffet of generous portions. You might see fresh fish baked with vegetables, beef stews, or turkey, always accompanied by a selection of salads and fresh fruit to finish. Between dives, snacks are always available at the indoor bar: biscuits, cake, and fruit that you can grab whenever you need an energy top-up. After dinner, the social heart of the Blue Force 2 shifts to the outdoor bar on the upper deck. It is a simple scene: divers sitting with a drink, reviewing the day’s photos on a tablet, or recounting a close encounter from the last dive. There is no forced entertainment, just the natural camaraderie of a group who have spent the day sharing the same experience.
