Engineered for small-group diving, the Amelie liveaboard is a traditional wooden vessel that carries a maximum of just 12 guests, guaranteeing a highly personalised experience where the quality of your time underwater is the primary focus. It explores the Red Sea's 'North & Wrecks' region, home to many historic wrecks, while deliberately avoiding the busy Hurghada dive boat traffic.
The operator’s foundation is built on deep technical knowledge and decades of professional experience. Instead of following the mainstream timetable, the M/Y Amelie crew employs an anti-cyclical schedule, allowing them to access prime sites when other boats are least present. This expert approach, including detailed knowledge of bathymetric structures and local sea conditions, supports fully customised dive plans tailored to the group's skill levels, ensuring access to low-frequented dive spots.
The dive deck is configured to fully support the modern underwater enthusiast, particularly photographers. The Amelie liveaboard provides a dedicated camera station and rinse tank, along with multiple high-capacity charging stations. Critically, nitrox is supplied, which is essential for safely maximising bottom times on repeated wreck and reef exposures. Post-dive comfort is assured with 2 fresh water deck showers. Furthermore, safety remains paramount, requiring mandatory use of dive computers and surface marker devices (SMDs).
When relaxing between dives, Amelie fosters a warm, communal atmosphere. Private time is spent in one of the 6 air-conditioned, twin-share cabins, all positioned on the quiet lower deck. The heart of social interaction is the indoor saloon and dining area on the main deck - a comfortable setting to read, enjoy the free internet, enjoy music, or exchange stories with your small group of fellow divers.
The dining experience aboard the Amelie features delicious buffet-style meals that highlight authentic Egyptian cuisine; complimentary soft drinks are included with your food. Outdoors, the vessel provides extensive sunning and lounging space. The entire top deck is an open-air sundeck, offering both a large, shaded open-air lounge area and 2 separate sunbathing spots equipped with comfortable bean bags and mats.
As one of the most economic Hurghada liveaboards available, the Amelie liveaboard represents exceptional value for experienced divers. The schedule mostly offers shorter 3-night mini-safaris but 6-night diving tours are also available. This combination of highly specialised routes and personal service, along with the option for PADI diver and specialty training, makes booking your Red Sea scuba adventure on the Amelie a confident decision.
There are 6 air-conditioned cabins on board the Amelie, all in the lower deck and all with twin bunk beds and portholes. The cabins share 2 bathrooms with freshwater showers.
All the cabins have:

Enjoy your first dinner in the saloon before the vessel prepares for its overnight transit to the northern dive sites.
Core Days
The core of this classic Red Sea North dive tour is the deep exploration of the Gubal Strait, home to the region’s most significant collection of sunken history. It dedicates substantial time to the 'ship graveyard' of Abu Nuhas, where you can descend upon 4 major wrecks: the Giannis D, the Carnatic, the Chrisoula K, and the Kimon M. These accessible historical vessels rest on a gently sloping seabed, now richly encrusted with vibrant corals and sheltering immense schools of glassfish. Further wreck diving includes the challenging, deep atmosphere of the Rosalie Moeller and the remains of the wreck of Ulysses.
Beyond these famous dive sites, the Amelie navigates to other notable relics, including the wreck of Balena and Hebat Allah, providing deep insight into the area’s maritime past. Adjacent to these are dynamic reef structures like Bluff Point, Umm Gamar Island, and Carless Reef, steep pinnacles swept by currents that attract large schools of pelagic fish and nurture thriving gorgonian fans. The Hurghada area’s near-shore sites, including the Giftun Islands and Abu Ramada, offer beautifully maintained reef profiles teeming with marine life.
The Amelie liveaboard ensures comprehensive coverage of the region by including unique reef formations. It explores Shaab El Erg, often visited by resident pods of wild dolphins, along with the isolated structures of Umm Usk, Siyul Islands, and Blind Reef. These dives feature abundant hard and soft coral life, consistently offering high fish density and completing a truly satisfying Northern Red Sea dive adventure on the Amelie.
Day 4
There are 2 dives scheduled for the final day of the cruise before the boat makes its way back to port in Hurghada for disembarkation mid-afternoon.
