In either scenario, embarkation may take place any time on the first day late afternoon onwards. for itineraries departing from Hurghada you will be met on arrival at Hurghada airport, be given assistance with visa on arrival procedures, and then transferred by air-conditioned minivan to Hurghada. The transfer takes around 20 minutes. For itineraries departing from Port Ghalib you may fly into either Hurghada or Marsa Alam. The transfer to Port Ghalib from Hurghada airport takes 3 hours. Upon embarkation you will be welcomed on board and given a boat and cruise briefing. After being assigned, and settling into, your cabin you can get to know your fellow divers over the first night’s dinner. Contessa departs port on the morning of day 2.
Days 2-7
Brother Islands, Daedalus Reef and Elphinstone is a popular route for experienced Red Sea divers, especially photographers and lovers of sharks. Photographers will appreciate the colourful fans and corals on the reefs and drop-offs. There are great smaller subjects around including octopus. Frogfish, lionfish, nudibranchs and countless schools of fish. Larger creatures include turtles, Napoleon wrasses and manta rays. Shark lovers will appreciate threshers, oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, whitetips and whale sharks.
Most diving days on this cruise will feature 3 dives. The day of disembarkation is the exception, with normally 2 (or perhaps 3) dives before returning to port.

More boats have sunk here than anywhere else. You will also dive Rosalie Moeller and the famous SS Thistlegorm - the most famous of all the Red Sea wrecks. This ship sank after being hit by German military while on a mission to deliver to British troops a cargo of ammunition and vehicles. You can still see much of this intact and tethered to the wreck - a fascinating experience.
You will also dive in the Blue Hole of Dahab and in the Ras Mohamed National Park. Finning past the bright gorgonians and soft corals you will see schools of snapper, trevally and tuna. This diver’s paradise also promises crocodilefish, blue-spotted stingrays, scorpionfish and turtles. You can also dive the Straits of Tiran’s 4 famous reefs: Jackson, Thomas, Gordon, and Woodhouse) where nutrient-dense currents bring in meaty pelagics.

Sharks present may include: scalloped hammerheads, grey reef, silvertip, silky and oceanic whitetip sharks. Mantas are frequently spotted in these waters, particularly during summer.
