The Egypt liveaboard M.Y. Blue Fin is an economyliveaboard that operates some of the most popular routes in the northern and southern Red Sea. At 39m in length the boat can accommodate up to 24 guests in a range of 12 ensuite cabins which all feature TVs and entertainment on hard drive.
On safaris from Hurghada you can enjoy gearing up on the expansive large decks before entering the water. With tanks of air or nitrox you step down to the large dive platform. Depending on the site, you will either stride off the stern or step into a dive tender. The dive deck has camera tables, charging stations, juice and drinking water and 2 rinse showers. The facilities also allow for rebreather diving. Unusually, the dive deck features an area of comfortable bench seating where you can chat through your recent underwater highlights.
When not partaking of the diving action, guests can unwind in a number of different areas on board. Outdoor locations include the partially shaded top deck. Here you can sit on comfortable outdoor furniture, sun loungers or bean bags, catch some rays or enjoy a sundowner cocktail or 3 from the well-stocked bar. Others may prefer the air-conditioned environment of the saloon/dining area with its ample seating, TV, library and where the hot drinks and snacks are on hand to keep you refreshed.
Dive experience: A minimum of 20 logged dives are required for northern routes and 30 dives for the southern routes.
Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, water, soft drinks, hot drinks, scheduled return transfers from Hurghada or Marsa Alam Airport to the boat, dives (as detailed in the trips above), 3 experienced English-speaking divemasters, tanks, weights and weightbelts.
Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (USD 200 per trip), port fees USD 60 per week, environmental tax USD 80 per week, dive insurance (and standard medical insurance). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash only).
Optional extras: Alcoholic drinks and mixers, nitrox fills for certified enriched air divers (USD 90 per tour), 15 litre tank (USD 55 per tour), dive computer (USD 65 per week), torch (USD 65 per week). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.
How to get there: MY Blue Fin liveaboard diving safaris depart from Hurghada and return transfers are provided from Hurghada hotels (main city only), and from Hurghada airport. Boarding takes place at 5 pm. The first and last night of each tour are spent in port/marina. Disembarkation at the end of the trip is at 10 am, when there is a transfer service to the local airport.
The last dive of the safari will be at around 12 noon on the penultimate day. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving. For more details visit our Red Sea travel information section.
Non-diver rate: 10% discount off the current cost (other promotional discounts can apply). PLUS, when available, non-divers can get a free cabin upgrade.
Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional. Single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a 80% supplement of the normal published price for their own cabin.
Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 7 guests and receive 1 extra space free of charge in the lowest price cabin (5 + 1 FOC until 31 March 2022). Pay for 14 or more guests and receive 2 extra spaces free of charge in the lowest price cabin.
Whole boat charter rate (per night): Pay for 21 or more guests and receive 3 extra spaces free of charge in the lowest price cabin.
Add-on package: If you have time, we strongly recommend that you consider some of the wonderful antiquities tours in Egypt which can add a whole new dimension to your holiday. Cairo museum's royal mummies, the pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, a glorious cruise down the Nile staying in a luxury cabin, The Valley of the Kings, all of these and more can be seen in packages starting at 6 nights' duration.
