The KP Explorer, formerly known as the Andaman Tritan, is an economy Indonesia liveaboard that visits the Riau Archipelago and surrounding wrecks. It is a simple and comfortable 25m boat staffed by a team of dedicated local crew that are familiar with the local sites, serve delicious local food and provide warm service before and after every dive.
5 of the cabins have private ensuite bathrooms and there are a further 4 cabins which share bathroom facilities. All cabins are air-conditioned and the boat features an extensive dive deck as well as full entertainment and safety facilities. With a capacity of only 17 divers, there are many liveaboard boats larger than the KP Explorer, however it feels like a bigger boat since there is always plenty of space, whether you're in the shaded outdoor dining area, the air-conditioned saloon or on the sundeck.
Guests tend to spend their time in the huge dining area where the meals served are a mixture of South East Asian and international cuisine, or for the sun lovers there is a large sundeck on the upper deck where you can work on your tan between dives.
With nitrox on board and with 7 crew and 3 dive masters, you can see why many consider the KP Explorer to provide all the services and attention you would wish when diving around the some of the best sites that western Indonesia has to offer. These short cruises use the Country Club Marina in Singapore, so they could be ideal for divers that are visiting Singapore or nearby and wish to visit the Anambas Islands and Igara Wreck.
There are 2 Master cabins (double bed with additional single bunk bed) and 3 Deluxe cabins on the main deck - 2 twin bunk bed cabins and 1 cabin with double bed and an additional single bunk bed. All these cabins have private bathrooms. There are also 3 Standard twin bunk bed cabins (2 on the upper deck and 1 on the main deck) and 1 Budget single bed cabin on the lower deck. Their shared bathrooms are on the main deck.
All the cabins have:
Air-conditioning
Sea-view windows (the Deluxe rooms have 1x2 metre windows)
Ensuite cabins have toilet, mirror, hot water shower, towels and hand basin
Reading lights
Mains outlet 220 volts - 24 hours per day
Bedding and shelves

How to get there: KP Explorer liveaboard dive cruises depart at 11:30 am from Marina Country Club, Punggol, Singapore. Guests gather at 11 am in time to board. After a second dive in the morning of the final day, the boat then begins its journey back to port, arriving at the marina to disembark between 7-9 pm. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving. Changi International Airport, Singapore (SIN) is one of the best connected airports in Asia, with direct flights from many countries in Europe and Asia, USA, Canada, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Punggol is 17 km northwest of the airport. Although there is a subway and buses, by far the easiest route is a 20 minute taxi ride.
Diving Environment: Lying in the South China Sea between Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia is the Riau Archipelago (which includes Acasta Reef and the Anambas islands). Far from shore, the Riau Archipelago is not a destination that daytrip boats can reach so it remains the sole playground of liveaboards. Distance from shore means there is less human impact meaning greater visibility unaffected by river run off and low diver numbers. You will likely be the only boat there. Here you can find a combination of wreck (Igara Wreck, Acasta Wreck, 7 Skies) and reef diving (Anambas Islands). In this region you may dive with giant moray eels, stingrays, cuttlefish and octopus. Turtles are commonly seen here, both hawksbill and green. There may, if you are very lucky, even be a passing whale shark. Visibility is 15-30m, water temperature is 27-29C.
Non-diver rate: 10% off the published price.
Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose the lower deck single cabin, share a cabin, or pay a supplement of 70% of the published price.
Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 6 guests and 1 additional person can join the cruise in the crew cabin free of charge.
Whole boat charter rate (per night): Ask us for details.
